Our experiment in thermal underwear, which we had been preparing for so long, has exceeded all expectations.
The ALPINA Thermoactive material was created in Europe in collaboration with the RUDOLF laboratory (a leader in material coatings and treatments) based on Ruco-Bac AGP technology. It may sound like a pharmaceutical or a stock index, but this is serious — the entire value of the garment lies in its material.
Ruco-Bac AGP is a breakthrough in textile technology. It is the best antibacterial and antiviral solution available today, rooted in the unique properties of silver (used for centuries to treat microbial infections before the invention of antibiotics).
Simply put: when silver is combined with textiles, it prevents the growth of bacteria and viruses (at minimum, it eliminates unpleasant odors and worse…), without harming you. The advanced technology also withstands washing at 40°C up to 60 times, which is enough for several years of use.
ALPINA Thermoactive is a patented material for thermal underwear made from micro-polyester with added elastane. The fibers are ultra-light yet incredibly strong, allowing the creation of a plush, voluminous fabric with amazing strength and breathability. We also chose a micro-brushed variant (a thin fleece layer) to enhance insulation.
We didn’t experiment with complex cuts, perforations, or inserts — mostly marketing gimmicks. The task was to make thermal underwear that keeps you warm, and it works. As always, we invested fully in the material, and our goal was simply to assemble everything high-quality and efficiently, without unnecessary details that would increase the cost.
